To say or not to say
Earlier this week, I told my classes that if they're missing assignments or labs, it would be in their best interests to come in to work on whatever it is. I let them know that I'm around to supervise at lunch and after school till 5:00pm every day. They all gave me a look, and one kid asked, "Why are you here till 5 every day?"
I stood for half a minute or so trying to decide whether to actually tell them. After that period, the kid asked, "Is that a bad question?"
Yes. Yes it is.
On a completely unrelated note (or not, as it were), I've cried 3 times today. So far.

D'oh! Things will get better! Honest! You won't have to do as much prep the next time you teach those same classes. Hope to see you soon.
