Quotes
I love weird quotes:
The knowledge of the world is only to be acquired in the world, and not in a closet. (Lord Chesterfield)
Facts are stupid things. (Ronald Reagan)
It is a mistake to think that you can solve any major problems just with potatoes. (Douglas Adams)

Speaking of ideas
Jay is the sweetest guy ever. I was at the fabric store, and he bought me a bunch of lovely discount fabric. Including shiny silver and red and green to make a real tree skirt out of. With pop-up stuffed holly and berries! I'm excited. And fabric to make us a quilt for the new bed, in matching room colours. Well, some day, once I finish all the mending I've been putting off. And other projects I have in mind or in the works.
New Year's resolution: finish old projects first.

Happy Festivus! Merry New Year!
So, this is 2008. Where are the flying cars, or the flying pigs, or something? Oh well.
Jay and I did the home excursion, first to the big family do at my Grandma's, then my parents, then his parents, then my parents again for an anniversary do. Then we did some visiting on the way home. It was all good. We also bought a new bed (my neck isn't sore any more!) and brought my big dining room table here. It's my new sewing table. It's quite an improvement over the little round table I had been using. So I got all my sewing stuff set up today, then made a cover for my new sewing machine:
The lines aren't consistent. I'm not very impressed with the trial digitizing software I was using. But the picture is awesome, thanks to Megan. I have the bestest little sister ever. I'm debating embroidering "Have you hugged your sewing machine today?" on it, but I wan't to work out the craptacularness out of it.
In other news, did you know that beeves used to be a plural form of beef? As in the cowboys rounded up the herd of beeves. I think we should bring it back into general use. Just think of all the rhyming possibilities. You could have a pet beeve as well as a pet peeve.
