Orchids

Here's my orchid that's blooming now.

It suddenly started blooming again, after sending out a bunch of shoots that died off. It's not as browny as it looks, that's the weird lighting from the flash. It's more of a pale tan with maroon spots. It's not normally a colour I would buy, but it was on sale and in good shape. And so far I haven't had any real problems with it.

Not like the little one I bought a month ago. It was blooming when I bought it, then I watered it too much and it rotted away. I also have two others that aren't blooming right now. The one only cost me $1 and I have no idea what colour it is, but it's alive, and right now that's what counts.

Some quotes

Quotes by Arthur C. Clarke, British science fiction writer (1917-2008):

- The intelligence of the planet is constant, and the population is growing.

- I'm sure the universe is full of intelligent life. It's just been too intelligent to come here.

- If there are any gods whose chief concern is man, they can't be very important gods.
