Here ya go

This is the new wall that I just finished painting:

And this is Jay's hair after I buzzed it, because it kept getting in the way of his surgery stitches:

I should probably explain that one. Jay had ear surgery to remove a skin cyst over his eardrum. Since it's a delicate operation, the surgeon had to go in from behind Jay's ear. Now Jay has stitches down the back of his ear, and it's swollen and sticks out. I call him FrankenEar.

Posterity is another word for future blackmail

I talked to my older brother the other day, he had an amusing story to tell. I guess when Jaden was a baby, he ate a maple bug, and didn't like it at all. I guess they're bitter, or maybe just bug-flavoured. So Robin decided to let Tristan try the same thing, as he really wanted to eat one. He put it in his mouth and started munching away with a big smile. After a bit, Robin and Jen wondered if he swallowed it, so Jen dug around in Tristan's mouth and pulled the mushed bug out. Tristan was pretty upset, he wanted it back.

Kids are weird.

Oh right, that thing

The reason we went to Ikea is that we went to Edmonton for a Roughriders game. I guess they won or something. I wasn't too excited about the game, but it meant a couple days off work with Jay.

Plus we got some Christmas shopping done. Since our family (I just about typed hamily, which might be fitting) hasn't made any decisions about what we're doing for Christmas (ahem), I'm just buying for the niece and nephews and parents. Costco had a bunch of cool stuff for rather cheap. I'm all about the cheap. I bought myself flowers and a pack of old Sherlock Holmes DVDs. Jay even went through the pain of watching one with me. He's a brave man.

I arted on the wall

Jay and I got this snazzy new light fixture from Ikea, and put it up in the front hall. Then I convinced him we should paint the mirror wall, get rid of the horrible 70's plaid mirror and the inset duck hunter mirror. The mirror wall was truly awful. Weekend project!

I figured it'd be easiest to use the grey and red leftovers from our bedroom renovations, and at first we thought about stripes or a checkerboard. And then Jay was sweet enough to let me abstract art it. I'm in the middle of doing something along these lines, but not quite as cool looking. I'll put pictures up when I'm done.

I laughed so hard

Jay and I just watched the movie Hot Fuzz, and it may now be my favorite movie ever. Simon Pegg is hilarious, and now I want to see anything he's ever made.
