Just Moved

We bought an acreage at the end of November.  It's about a 20 minute drive from work (we thought it'd be about 30 minutes, but traffic so far has been kind to us).  We're not in Fort Worth anymore, it's a little town called Annetta southwest of the city.  The second morning after we moved, there were a couple deer laying in the yard.  This is one of the many reasons I wanted to be on an acreage.

We really like the house so far.  It's a single story, which we're already finding more usable for us.  Although it's the same number of bedrooms as our previous house, it's quite a bit bigger in square footage and way bigger than we would need.  We're only using about half the storage that's here.  Not that I'm complaining, I don't like feeling crammed into a house.  I did rediscover when we moved that we have way too much stuff, so as we're putting things away I've been paring down, and I have plans to do more as well.

We've been living here about a week now and are still organizing and unpacking some.  We did some updating before we moved in: removed wallpaper in the master bathroom and kitchen, then painted; also painted the walls and floor in the garage.  Since moving in, I painted the mirror frames for the master bath, and Jay is in the process of replacing the doorknobs and faucets throughout the house (say no to gold).  I'm also going to replace some curtains and blinds, as we seem to have rather different tastes than the previous owners.  Plus we're finding (this seems to be a theme here) that the previous owners didn't do much in the way of maintenance, so there's a lot of tightening screws going on too.

Jay hasn't had time yet to finish plugging all the network drives back in so I don't have pictures to show yet, but those will come.
