I knew if I stayed around long enough, something like this would happen.

Um, hi.

I have an urge to write something. Since this doesn't happen often of late, I'm going to indulge myself.

We have stairs! No railing yet, but if you stairs it, rails will come. Or something. At least that's the hope. We bought pre-made unfinished oak treads, Jay cut them to size, and I finished them. I'm rather proud of myself. They're buttery smooth in a lovely glowing reddish with gorgeous grain. I love them, I think is what I'm trying to say. We plan to do the kitchen cupboard doors in the same colour whenever that happens. Stairs look like this:

In Roly news, he's growing, and he's still amusing and very sweet. I need to come up with an under-couch blocking device to keep him from losing all of his toys. He likes to pick up his toys and carry them to where ever we are, so they all eventually migrate under the downstairs couch. Except for the ones we can't find, like the laser pointer which has completely disappeared. Magic!

On the day job front, I'd probably better not speak of it. Short story: I'm frustrated by minor things. I also have another job, tutoring math and science to high school kids. I'm really glad I've decided to keep it to 2 nights a week, more would play havoc with my sanity. Especially since I quit the last job so that I wouldn't have to work in the evenings. Yes, I'm an idiot. But it pays decently well.
